Behind the Scenes for the Cosmic Winter 2025 Live Recordings
After learning a bunch from the Höhnhart in Flammen Live Video Disaster i wanted to step it up a notch, starting with not doing everything at the same time - this time I was not Soundguy, Videographer and Artist at the same time.
I asked Manuel of MD Video Productions if he could help me out with the filming this time, and he helped me a LOT. He brought some high end gear and convinced me to set up a Drum Cam, which came in INVALUABLE while editing, I’m so glad he did.
For my own set with Unholy Obscurity i enlisted my ex girlfriend as the second Action Cam and she did an amazing job, same as when we shot the Advent Demon Music Video
Audio was handled by a Zoom Mic, I’m okay with how it sounds but I think I should step it up next time by taking the time to also mic up the Mixer as well (As Manuel was trying to convince me). I feel like I made the best out of it with various EQ Adjustments though.

1 Static Cam
1 Drum Cam
Things that went wrong
Static Camera for both Deumus and Hellrazors went out of focus entirely
Drum Cam for Unholy slid a bit too far to the right, leaving me with kind of a weird composition
We sucked at playing Church Inferno, which is why that video will never see the light of day
Hellrazors actually filmed their set with their own Static Cam, so it won’t be that big of a deal
For Deumus I’ll just have to work with 2 Action Cams and the Drum Cam, It’ll be fiiiine (I haven’t started yet)
In general I’m extremely proud of what I was able to produce here, Live Videos will definitely become a staple of our Gatherings. I think it’s just a cool thing to offer our acts - and I enjoy making them a lot, so why not.
